Starting is difficult

"Still other seed fell on good soil"

I' I've always been really talented at dreaming.  I'm  pretty useless in a lot ways. My lack of attention to detail, organization, and consistency often hinder me from making the kind of impact that I'd like too.  Yet I believe God has truly gifted me with a divine imagination.  The ability to enter worlds not yet present.  The ability to perceive and experience ideas and concepts in their infancy. I've adopted some useful terminology to describe my unique skill set, as to not make it sound as lazy as it actually is (Hello my name is Cadogan and I don't do much, but I like to think about things).  I describe my self as a gifted thought partner.  Surprisingly, people really dig that.  Humans long for affirmation,  to feel understood.  The process  of sharing an idea or vision can be intimidating.   As you grow older, and the list of  your accomplishments expand the expectation surrounding your thoughts and ideas can feel oppressive.  We need thought partners, fertile soil for our seedling dreams. For our dreams are expressions of our souls.

3   "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world "

Dreams don't have to stay dreams, but they will if not cultivated.  I often accredit my knack for thought partnership to living in a state of perpetual dream deferment.   When ya dream a lot, you realize how difficult it is to bring a dream to life.  You grow weary and frustrated, and begin to re-imagine reality around this state.  This  space is a distortion.  It is here that dreams become nightmares.  The world is filled with dreamers trapped in nightmares,  I have seen this in my city.  Talented black and brown men and women who have dreams much larger than the size of their support or access to resources. Lack of access isn't the only thing that limits dreams from coming to life,  sometimes unrealistic expectations lead to this. Dr, King refers to this as "analysis paralysis."

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good"

Creation is an act of liberation.  It is resistance. A prophetic reenactment . In college I recall going to Toronto on a mission trip with my soul brotha.  Toronto is an incredibly beautiful city.  Replete with sleek architecture, stunning landscapes, and the most wonderful smorgasbord of  human beings.  Did you know 40% of Toronto is immigrants?  During our trip we ran into a super hip musician who asked us if we made music.  We told him we did, however we expressed that we hadn't really made an album and were somewhat dismayed by the recording process.  To which he replied, "recording is about documentation, not presentation."  His anecdote  has divine echoes.   Dream and create not for others, but because you were made to dream, you were made to create.
